12 Days of Baking: Gingerbread

Today we are sharing a Gingerbread recipe from Antique Sandwich Co located in Tacoma, Washington! This timeless treat combines aromatic spices & molasses to create a delicious dessert that is perfect for the holiday season! 

  • 4 egg yolks
  • 2 cups molasses
  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1 1/8 cup canola oil or avocado oil
  • 4 ½ cups Fairhaven Mill Organic Pastry Flour
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp ginger
  • 1 tbsp mustard powder
  • 1 tsp cloves
  • 1 ½ tbsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 4 egg whites, whipped

Directions:

  1. With a wire whip, combine egg yolks, molasses, warm water, & oil. Mix well.
  2. Add flour, cinnamon, ginger, mustard powder, cloves, baking powder, & baking soda. Mix until smooth.
  3. Add egg whipped eggs. Mix until smooth.
  4. Pour into an oiled baking pan
  5. Bake at 350° F for 40 minutes or until a toothpick is inserted in the center and comes out clean
